Jay Czelusniak Owner and Funeral Director

Jay Czelusniak is the fourth-generation owner and licensed funeral director at Czelusniak Funeral Home. Jay graduated from Northampton High School and Northfield Mt. Hermon School, received a bachelor’s degree from University of Vermont and received his associates of mortuary science from Lynn University. He is a current member of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors’ Association, the National Funeral Directors’ Association, founder of the Western MA Independent Funeral Directors’ Association, a member and past PER of the Order of Elks Lodge #997, a member of the Lions, past board member of the Northampton Chamber of Commerce, a member of the 3-County Fair Association and an incorporator at Florence Bank. Jay has dual citizenship in both the United States and Ireland, and is a proud member of the Northampton St. Patrick's Association. He is also a former coach of the Northampton High School Boys' Soccer Team for ten years, leading them to victory in the Western MA Championship.

James P. Curtis Funeral Director

James P. Curtis is a licensed funeral director at Czelusniak Funeral Home. Originally from Indiana, he graduated from Lawrence North High School in 2003 and received an associate’s degree in mortuary science from Fine Mortuary College in 2020. James served his apprenticeship at Czelusniak Funeral Home starting in 2017, was licensed in August 2020, and is proud to serve the Pioneer Valley and beyond. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors’ Association, the Massachusetts Funeral Directors’ Association and the National Eagle Scout Association. James lives in Greenfield with his wife and daughter.

Daniel Cronin Funeral Assistant

Daniel Cronin began working at Czleusniak Funeral Home in 1983 when Frank Czelusniak asked him to join the team part-time. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1985 and received a bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College in 1989. Dan has been with the funeral home full-time since 2018 as a licensed funeral assistant.

Jim McGrath Funeral Associate

Jim McGrath was born, raised and currently resides in Northampton. He taught and coached at Dean Technical High School in Holyoke for 25 years, retiring in 2012. Besides teaching math, he coached boys' soccer, cross country and girls' volleyball in the fall as well as boy's basketball in the winter months, winning many league titles. From 2011 to 2020, he has been volunteering as an associate coach for the girls' basketball team at Northampton High School, where he was a part of two Division II Western MA titles. Jim has been a part of the team at Czelusniak Funeral Home since his retirement where coincidentally his father, Brad McGrath, worked after his retirement from education.
